Recently, five teams from Marymede Catholic College (2 Primary and 3 Secondary) participated in the Tournament of Minds – Metro Northern Regional Finals 2016 at La Trobe Univeristy. A total of 35 students from our College were involved in this competition against Schools from across the region.
We are pleased to announce that our Secondary – Maths and Engineering team were named winners in their division and will now participate in the Victorian State Finals to be held on the 4th of September at La Trobe University, Bundoora.
The students will be putting together a 10 minute performance based presentation of the device they will build between 1.50 pm – 4.20 pm.
Congratulations to Laura, Jarnai, Claudia, Daniel, Nicholas, Adam, Riccardo and Mr. Narasimhan on this outstanding achievement.
This is the second year in a row that a team from Marymede Catholic College has progressed through to the State Finals. Addition, our Secondary – Social Sciences team also recieved Honours in their division.
An outstanding effort by all those who took part on the day.
