As part of Science Week celebrations, students in Years 3, 4 and 5 at Marymede Catholic College along with friends from St. Mary's Primary School Whittlesea, St. Joseph's Primary School Mernda and St. Paul the Apostle Primary School Doreen gathered together to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for 'Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Albert Einstein'.

We were supported on the day by Mr Craig Ondarchie MP, Cr Tom Joseph and Sgt Paul Davies (Victoria Police) who were on hand to act as Independant Witnesses on behalf of Guinness World Record.

An amazing 541 participants did the job and we can now claim that we have (unofficially) broken the World Record for Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Albert Einstein eclipsing the previous record of 304 (held by Black Pines School, California). We will now collate all our evidence and send it across to the Guinness World Record Headquarters in London for official verification.

This event provided us with a great opportunity to come together in our Catholic Schools community and take part in something which was extremely unique and exciting for all involved. It was an amazing sight and we am extremely proud of our participants from all four Schools for embracing the attempt and really contributing to a great morning.

Well done students!
