The Marymede Soccer Academy

Marymede Catholic College’s Sport Department is now accepting applications for positions in the ‘Marymede Soccer Academy’ in 2016 for students in Years 7-12.  

The Marymede Soccer Academy provides an opportunity for Marymede’s elite soccer athletes (male and female) to take their soccer performance to the next level through participation in an intensive skills program running across Term 1, 2, 3 and 4. We are looking for outstanding soccer talent who has made a significant contribution to soccer at Marymede, in their local community, regionally, state wide or nationally.

Program Focus:
The main focus of the ‘Marymede Soccer Academy’ will be the development of skill, tactical play and endurance specific to soccer. Athletes will also benefit from an experienced coach, increased self-confidence and improved performance.

Who is running the Marymede Soccer Academy?
The program will be run by David O’Connor (DOC). DOC is the president of DOC football academy and was nominated for Coach of the year and was selected by the S-league to coach an S-league all-star representative side to play the Singapore National team.

•    Improvement in skill
•    Improvement in understanding of the game.
•    Improve player ability.
•    Tactically analysis focus and improvement in game situations.
•    Individual student areas of focus for improvements.

When will the sessions commence:
Students will be expected to attend the academy on Monday (male squad) and Tuesday (female squad) afterschool (3:30pm to 4.30pm) on the Soccer Pitch starting Monday February 15, and Tuesday February 16, 2016.

MSA is looking for students who are serious about their soccer and want to learn, it is not for students who are undisciplined and are unprepared to put 100% into it. Participants will be expected to attend all sessions across each program. Failure to attend on 2 occasions without notification via email will result in removal from the program.

Participants must be excelling in Soccer, participating in/or aspirations to be a member of a representative, state or national team.
