In this edition of 'Meet the Teacher' we speak with Ms. Simone McGill, a member of our Secondary School Teaching team.
Name: Simone McGill - Secondary School Teacher- simone.mcgill@marymede.vic.edu.au
What is your role at the College?
I currently teach Humanities (Years 8 and 9), Religious Education (Years 9, 10 and 11) and Indonesian (Year 10). Additionally I am also the Youth Ministry Coordinator.
Tell us about an interesting project or topic that you are currently running with one of your classes?
I recently worked with my Year 10 Religious Education class on a project where they collaborated with our Year 5 students in the classroom to learn more about aspects of Aboriginal history, culture and the Dreaming. This was a topic which all Year 10 and Year 5 classes focused on and it was great to be able to collaborate with the Primary School students.
What is the most rewarding aspect of being a Teacher?
The most rewarding aspect of being a Teacher is observing students gain new skills and knowledge and being able to share in their success.

If You Could Pick Any 3 People as Dinner Guests, Who Would They Be and Why?:
Adam Goodes - He seems interesting.
Pope Francis - I really like his teachings and the way he lives out his faith.
My Mum - She lives in Sydney so we don't get to have dinner together much.
