Ethan Devereux - Year 10, 2016
A simple handshake is the beginning of a connection. Soft pastels reinforce the notion of a friendly encounter, and, the use of additional materials such as impasto medium and paint complete the circle. Two opposite colours and materials work well through contrast and variety. Connection is a theme personal to me. I chose to draw hands with bright coloured paint as this reflected my History studies about war and peace. This artwork attempts to bring together the extremes of colour or armies and suggests a path to peace is possible. This, I believe, is the meaning to life.
